Summary

At REO Advisors, we take privacy very seriously, and try to make our Privacy Policy as simple and complete as possible.

This document attempts to convey our Privacy Policy which, in essence, can be reduced to:

  1. Private Information provided during the application process will only be used to generate an accurate quotation for coverage and will be shared only with potential carriers.
  2. We will never provide information we gather (including email addresses) to anyone outside of REO Advisors, its carriers, and firms that perform work for us.
  3. We may use aggregate data to determine trends such as demand in certain areas, etc. but will not share that information with other firms.
  4. We track the performance of our online advertising using AdWords (which may use cookies from google.com) and Yahoo! Search Marketing (which may use cookies from overture.com, yahoo.com, or msn.com).

Private and Proprietary Information

When visitors to our site choose to apply online for our insurance products, we collect information about the visitor's company including private and proprietary information. This information includes the company's name, address, form of business, ownership information, revenue information, and other private data necessary to accurately provide a quotation for Errors and Omissions and/or Professional Liability Insurance coverage.

The information gathered during the application process is used solely for the purpose of providing a quotation for insurance products. It is shared only with licensed Insurance Carriers that are authorized to provide insurance in the applicant's state(s), and only to carriers that are known to have an active interest in providing insurance to the applicant.

We will never provide this proprietary information to any third party other than potential carriers.

We may use this information to contact the applicant during the quotation process to gather additional needed information or to provide reminders of an active quote process (for example, we may contact an applicant near the renewal date of their existing policy).

If a visitor's firm becomes a customer of REO Advisors, the application data will become customer information and will be used for normal business processing including the renewals process, payment processing, etc. At no time will the customer information be shared with third parties, except for parties acting as agents directly for REO Advisors (for example, printing firms sending renewal notices). Personally Identifying Information

In addition to application data, certain information may be gathered throughout the site that can identify an individual visitor. This information may include:

  • Email addresses provided by the visitor
  • Numeric IP Addresses (or DNS Names) of the visitor's computer
  • Cookies (small pieces of text that the visitor's computer sends to the server)

REO Advisors uses this Personally Identifying Information in the following ways:

  • If a user enters an email address, we may use it to contact them directly, or perform any activity that is explicitly listed on the email sign-up form. Generally, these activities are limited in scope and duration. We will never provide email addresses to third except for parties acting as agents directly for REO Advisors.
  • IP Addresses and DNS Names are used for server logging purposes, and to verify sender's email addresses (to help block SPAM). We do not provide this information to any third party, except for parties acting as agents directly for REO Advisors.
  • Session Tracking Cookies are used simply to maintain a session with the user during multi-page activities like filling out our application page. They are used solely by the REO Advisors website, and are not shared with any third party except for parties acting as agents directly for REO Advisors (for example, our contracted web development firm).
  • Ad Performance Monitoring Cookies are used to determine how effective our web advertising is. At this time, we use three advertising systems: Google Analytics, Google AdWords and Yahoo! Search Marketing. These programs allow us to place an image or Javascript snippet on certain pages (such as our final application submission page) to track where the users who actually purchase insurance were referred from (which advertisement, which keywords, etc.). When these images are loaded, they use an additional cookie to track the visitors source and track the performance of our advertising. These cookies are governed by Google's Privacy Policy or Yahoo! Search Marketing's Privacy Policy. If we ever choose to use another advertising system, we will update this Privacy Policy to reflect their tracking mechanisms.

Aggregate Information

Some information, both from the application process and from other areas of the site, may be used by REO Advisors in an aggregate form that does not identify the visitor. For example, we may use application data to determine demand in certain states, or to determine the effectiveness of certain web pages. This aggregate data will not be shared with any third party except for parties acting as agents directly for REO Advisors (such as advertising firms helping improve our web site).

Modification and Removal of Identifying Information

Upon request we provide site visitors with access to all information, including proprietary information, that we maintain about them.

Consumers can access this information and/or correct it by contacting us directly using any of the methods listed on our contact page. Proper identification must be verified before any information will be provided.
